Olympics Legocy

Lego seems to be developing into the architectural PR tool of choice at the moment.

Following on from the brilliant KRADS project in Helsinki Design Week and of course Lego’s own Architecture range, The London Legacy Development Corporation has turned to the Lego brick to promote the post-Olympics regeneration in East London.

It has turned to Lego ‘master-builder’ Duncan Titmarsh to create a 3x3m model of the East Village – formerly the Atheletes’ Village – and the Queen Elizabeth Park, which together make up new London neighbourhood E20.

The model, which took more than 400 hours to build, uses 50 000 Lego pieces and features landmarks such as the ArcelorMittal Orbit tower and the Olympic Stadium itself.
